I am so excited to start painting with light!
Here are 2 examples I found on line of painting with light.

Shutter Defenitions

Shutter-The shutter is a part of the camera that exposes the light. It opens and closes as you take the picture.

Shutter speed-Shutter speeds are how fast the shutter opens and closes. It can be open for a really long time or really quickly.

Shutter priority- A camera setting that chooses the aperture but you get to choose the shutter speed.

Aperture-The size the lens opens to.

ISO/ASA- Controlles the sensativity of your picture (eg. Light, Grains)

Exposure triangle- The 3 rules to the right exposure (aperture, shutter speed, ISO)

''B'' or Bulb- Camera setting that allows lots of exposure time that the photographer can decide about.

Cable Relese- Metal or wire cable attached to the shutter button. There is a trigger on the cable that when pressed takes a picture.

Tripod- A object that attaches to the camera and holds it still off the ground. Sort of the a shelf.

Bracketing- To take the same picture with diffrent exposures.

Ice Skating

Yesterday my photo class went skating. It was super fun taking pictures and I had a blast skating in my boots :)
We practiced our shutter speed.

Annie Leibovez

Annie Leibovez is an amazing photographer. I recently just watched a documentary about her and it was really great! Here are my 2 favroite photos from her.

I love this picture because it tells a story. To me the story is finding a girl for a photoshoot but to you it may mean something else. This photo has so much contrast.

I love this picture as well because it reminds me of cinderella. All of the lighing and effects just makes it amazing.

November

As we get into November most people are probably thinking about summer. Family vacations, beach trips and ice cream runs. That's what my summer consisted of. I am super excited for the winter but I'm also missing the warm nights, Bon fires and not worrying about school. Here's a few pictures from my summer.

Brae Island

This is my favorite picture from my Brae Island field trip

I love this picture because of the colours. I also think it looks very mysterious and I like that.

These pictures are from a field trip to the grave yard to take pictures. I still do not have a dslr camera so these are from a point and shoot camera.

Line: This picture is so cool! It has lines everywhere you look and it really draws your attention.
